The 8 minute long experimental film addresses the concept of improvisation and physical intuition as a tool in the creative design process. Three protagonists interact with each other in a square closed room. Their relationships stay ambivalent und unresolved. Through playful improvisation the actors get to know the space. The camera can be interpreted as a fourth actor and is constantly part of the play. A jazzdrummer, just like the personalised camera, can be read as a fifth performer who does not only atmospherically accompany the actions with music but as an activ part comments and responds to the other protagonists. As a theoretical foundation I refer to the literature about improvisational intelligence by Christopher Dell. The film also references different pieces from pop culture like David Lynch‘s Black Lodge, Francis Bacon‘s Blue Man, Stanley Kubrick‘s The Shining and Alejandro G. Iñárritu‘s Birdman.
